Do not pretend to be who you are not
because you do not become anything
by pretending.

In your pretention,
you cease to be who you are.
Yet you do not become
who you wish you were.

And therefore,
you are reduced
to being

nothing.

If you are not satisfied
with who you have become,
Strive to be who you want to be.

You are not skipping a step
by pretending,

You just
never really get there.
