I am not asking you to stay, 

not because I want you to leave, 

but because I do not want to be selfish.

I am not the kind 

who will stand between you 

and victory. 

And although, 

In your quest, 

We are not assured 

that you will turn out victorious, 

we will never know 

if you will not take a step forward.

Tears fall because of this anticipated yet sudden goodbye. 

Yet, 

If I am to be among those who will be deemed casualty to your quest, 

I will be a willing sacrifice.

I will miss you dearly 

Not because I need you, 

But because you have been part 

Of a few months of a different kind of friendship. 

I am not asking you to stay... 

But don't leave without a word, 

and never say goodbye.
